Sanbor Shullai inaugurates road to Kynjat Phutbol, Lumparing in Shillong

SHILLONG, July 30: Residents of Kynjat Phutbol, Lumparing, Shillong after 40 years of waiting for road connectivity has finally realized their dream as on Monday local MLA of South Shillong Constituency Sanbor Shullai inaugurated the 200 meter motorable PWD link road at Rait Laban-Kynjat Phutbol.

The one kilometer motorable link road connecting Kynjat Phutbol from the existing PWD road was constructed at a cost of Rs. 82, 88, 200 under the PWD Special Planning Assistance (SPA) scheme. It may be reminded that the foundation stone for construction of the road was laid by the local MLA on July last year.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Shullai said, “This road will greatly benefit the people of Kynjat Phutbol as many have suffered in times of emergency and financially as there was no proper road connectivity.”

He said that in the past the people would have to shell out more money be it construction of a house or getting medical help in times of emergency as there was no proper road.

He also informed that there are many other projects still under construction in the constituency and urged the contractors to complete the assigned project within the set time line.

Around 300 households in Kynjat Phutbol will be benefitted from the road. During the inauguration, local headmen of the area, woman and youth organization besides others attended the function.
