SBI ATMs in Tinsukia go dry leaving people in lurch

TINSUKIA: With malfunctioning of some SBI ATM kiosks are being reported in some areas of Tinsukia district, people have been facing inconvenience as the kiosks fail to dispense cash and some ATMs remain non-functional for reasons best known to the SBI authorities.

Among several kiosks, the ATM located at Parbotia Road bearing no DFBK000196089 has become an unpredictable dispenser of late. The SBI authorities neither shut down the ATM nor rectify the defects. Instead, the SBI staff allegedly advice customers to avoid using the kiosk.

Though there were specific guidelines by the government and the Reserve Bank of India that the ATMs should not go dry in any eventuality, some SBI ATMs in Tinsukia district run short of cash frequently leading to extreme inconvenience to the public.
