Scientific Beekeeping Workshop In Shillong

SHILLONG: The ICAR Research complex for NEH Region, Umiam, has been conducting several programmes for the the farming community to improve the livelihood, and doubling the farmer’s income. In this regard, a training-cum-demonstration programme on ‘Scientific Beekeeping’ was organized on March 22 at the entomology farm of the institute. Twenty eight beekeeping farmers from Latiam village (Sohra sub-division) were selected for the programme. DM Firake coordinated this training-cum-demonstrations programme. All the trainees were also been provided with scientific beekeeping literature, seeds of bee flora, modern bee boxes and accessories to strengthen their livelihood.
