SWGH observes clean and green day

AMPATI, 4 June: A mass tree plantation and cleaning drive was undertaken at the South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner’s Office compound on the eve of World Environment Day on Monday. The day was observed as ‘Clean and Green Day’ as part of the World Environment Day celebrations, wherein the Deputy Commissioner HDB Sangma, Additional Deputy Commissioner DD Shira and other officers planted tree saplings around the DC’s office complex in Ampati. The tree plantation was followed by a cleaning drive which was participated by all the officers and staff of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner HDB Sangma led the participants in taking the “going green” pledge which was followed by distribution of tree saplings to officers, staff and other participants.
