Syiem resigns as Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council Chief Executive Member

Shillong, July 10: A urgent session of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council convene for vote of ‘No Confidence’ against the KHADC CEM PN Syiem was prorogue only after three minutes without any discussion after the KHADC Chairman LG Nongsiej informed the House that the CEM PN Syiem had already tendered his resignation at 8:30 this morning. Syiem who tendered his resignation did not attend the urgent session.

While some members in the House insisted that there should be some discussion, the chairman prorogue the session without any discussion.

“Now that the CEM have resigned I will have to send this matter immediately to the Governor so that the Governor can fix a date for the election of a new CEM to the KHADC,” KHADC chairman LG Nongsiej told newsmen here.

He informed that since the KHADC session will begin from July 25.
