Three Held By Border Security Force In West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya

SHILLONG: The Border Security Force troops deployed at Lalghat, West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, acting on a tip-off regarding smuggling of yaba tablets, apprehended three persons on Thursday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ch Sangma (22), Purno R Marak (24) and Amiston T Sangma. Amiston was carrying the other two from Gumaghat to Rongdu village on his bike (ML-06-4839).

An amount of Rs 2 lakh alongwith 4 mobile phones were also recovered from their possession. They revealed before the BSF that they received the amount from Shillong. The purpose of the money is also yet to be confirmed. Names of some persons involved in the smuggling of yaba have also surfaced during the interrogation of the accused persons.
