Traffic signal booth ‘confuses’ commuters in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Despite being reported a couple of times, the traffic signal booth in Thana Charali continues to send the commuters into a state of confusion, as its automatic traffic control system has been lying non-functional for the past many months. Traffic personnel, appointed for managing the traffic manually, have not quite been able to make up for the loss. Time and again commuters are seen getting confused with respect regarding traffic signals which not only leads to unnecessary delays but also poses a potential threat to their life.

The traffic booth is in one of the busiest squares of the town, besides being diagonally opposite to the Dibrugarh Sadar Thana. As one of the roads of the town, volume of traffic in the RKB Road during peak hours is high. In such a situation, even a small mistake on the part of a driver, arising out of confusion, can attract serious casualties.
