Our Correspondent

Silchar, July 17: The newly floated Leo Club of Silchar is making news for all good reasons. This time they have come up with a noble initiative to meet help the poor street vendors who brave the sun's scorching heat for selling vegetables, fruits and other edibles. As a part of their permanent monthly project titled 'Sunshine: Creating brighter tomorrow', the members of the Club distributed umbrellas, puri sabji, laddoos and bottles of a refreshing drink among the vegetable and fruit vendors of Hospital road in Silchar on Monday. They also gave study materials for the children of these vegetable and fruits vendors.

Since these vendors do not have adequate space inside the actual market area, it compels them to sit under the open sky, even during sun and shower. They also have to make it early for finding a space for themselves. They reach the spot early in the morning and leave by 2 in the afternoon.
