Wooden bridge not safe for traffic: PWD

SHILLONG, June 25: PWD (Roads) Executive Engineer, Mawsynram Division, has said that the wooden bridge on Mawsynram-Hatmawdon-Ryngku road is not safe for the plying of trucks and buses. The PWD has also hereby reiterated that to ensure safety for the plying of vehicles and the public, plying of heavy loaded vehicles along this road is restricted to a loading capacity of nine tonnes only. The Executive Engineer has also said that repairing work on the Mawsynram-Hatmawdon-Ryngku bridge by the office of the Executive Engineer, PWD (Roads), Mawsynram Division, Mawsynram, is in progress.
