ITANAGAR: The tenth edition of the Arunachal Film Festival (AFF) is set to commence on February 6 next, at TNZ Cinemas here, with a special curtain raiser event scheduled for January 30.
Sharing details about the event, PRO-cum-nodal officer at the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) Dugyir Padu, said, “This time movie enthusiasts and film lovers of the state are in for a cinematic treat as the Arunachal Film Festival (AFF) gears up to host a curtain raiser event on January 30.”
The event will feature a special screening of the movie ‘Zero Se Restart’ by Vinod Chopra Films, followed by an exclusive master class by the film’s director Jaskunwar Kohli, she informed.
Speaking about the master class, she highlighted its significance and said it offers a unique opportunity for aspiring filmmakers and cinephiles to learn directly from a celebrated director. The master class will provide insights into filmmaking, storytelling, and the creative process behind the making of ‘Zero Se Restart’.”
Regarding the film line-up, Padu revealed that 11 films will be showcased in the non-competition category during the three-day festival.
“For the competition section, we have shortlisted only four short movies by filmmakers from the state and eight documentaries in the open-to-all category,” she added.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will feature workshops on film editing, animation, and cinematography, conducted by resource persons from outside the state.
Encouraging filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts to take part, the nodal officer emphasized that the festival is aimed at serving as a platform to celebrate cinematic excellence and nurture local talent, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and creative potential of the region. The event is being organized by the DIPR in collaboration with the Arunachal Film Federation (AFF).
