

PASIGHAT: Fourteen trainee officers of the 98th Foundation course from Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, who are in East Siang district as part of their Field Study and Research (FSR) programme to rural areas, completed their weeklong field study on Sunday. The trainees shared their experiences and feedback during a meeting with DC East Siang Tayi Taggu, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, and HoDs of development departments.
The field study involves the Kebang system, customary practice, arts and crafts, livelihood patterns, land and agriculture, the role of Panchayati Raj, ongoing central flagship schemes, and interactions with PRIs, GBs, beneficiaries, youth, students, SHGs, farmers, and village secretaries. The DC commended the keen interest shown by the trainee officers to understand and get firsthand experience of the impact of various development projects on the lives of the rural populace, on the expectations and aspirations of the people, and on the rich culture and heritage. He hoped that these grassroots experiences would help them understand and serve the people of India in the best possible way.
The DC also highlighted the major thrust areas of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, viz., the e-office initiative, health, education, sports sectors, to channelize the energy of the youth.
SP East Siang,Sumit Kumar Jha, also hoped that first-hand insights and interactions with SHGs, youth, PRIs, and grassroots people had sensitized them about society, culture, potential, and development needs in all their aspects. He also appreciated their thorough documentation of the field visits in every aspect of development.
Earlier, each trainee shared their observations and feedback gained after their visits to schools, health centres, etc., adding that their interactions with beneficiaries of government schemes, women's SHGs, GBs, youth, students, teachers, ASHAS, farmers, and members of the village community have been really helpful in their field study and documentation process.
