ITANAGAR: The All India Radio with its five stations and 37 100watt FM stations spread across Arunachal Pradesh has been catering its service to the people in remote areas of the state living up to its motto ‘Bahujan Hitaya, Bahujan Sukhaya (for happiness of many; for welfare of many), the assembly was informed on Friday.

Information and Public Relation Minister Bamang Felix while responding to a question by Congress MLA Ninong Ering, informed that in the state where the reach of conventional media is restricted due to its vastness and unfriendly terrain, All India Radio has been successful in overcoming the limitations and reaching out to the people almost at every corner of the state.

“Apart from English and Hindi programmes, AIR is broadcasting local and regional programmes in more than 15 local dialects in the state. The contents of the programmes broadcast are basically from the field of education, information, health, agriculture, science & technology and entertainment,” the minister disclosed.
