
GUWAHATI: Within a rapid and combined operation, Papu Hills police were able to rescue three teen girls, ages 14-15, who had been missing from Duliajan in Dibrugarh district of Assam. The girls were rescued safely and handed over to their parents to secure their safety and well-being.
The children had initially planned to go to Tinsukia but accidentally boarded a train that brought them to Naharlagun railway station on March 12.
After they were discovered, authorities made sure they were given a medical checkup before they were provided with shelter at the Oju Shelter Home in Naharlagun.
The police from Duliajan helped them track down their parents, and the girls were released to their families at Papu Hills police station on March 14.
Conveying gratitude for the quick action, Naharlagun Superintendent of Police Mihin Gambo said, "This timely intervention by the Papu Hills police ensured the safety of the minors, averting possible exploitation and ensuring their well-being.
