Itanagar: Addressing the pressing connectivity challenges faced by commuters, Khonsa West MLA Chakat Aboh, has taken a proactive step by providing 10 tyres from her MLA-LAD fund to the state transport services (STS).
The support aims to ensure the timely resumption of vital bus services connecting Khonsa, the headquarters of Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh, to key destinations like Itanagar, Tinsukia and Tezu.
The tyres were officially handed over to the Khonsa STS Superintendent Kaphang Matey, who expressed his gratitude on behalf of the transport department, an official communiqué informed here on Tuesday. Lauding Aboh’s swift intervention, Matey described her contribution as an unprecedented gesture that directly addresses the urgent needs of the region’s transport infrastructure.
Following the initiative, bus services between Khonsa and Itanagar resumed on January 2, last. Matey further confirmed that services on the Khonsa-Tinsukia and Khonsa-Tezu routes are set to become operational within the next two days.
Aboh’s efforts underscore her commitment to improving transportation facilities and easing travel challenges for the public. Her support not only addresses immediate logistical issues but also highlights her dedication to fostering better connectivity and accessibility for the people of Khonsa and its surrounding regions.
The resumption of these bus services is expected to bring much-needed relief to daily commuters, further enhancing economic and social activities in the area.
