Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Bosiram Siram on Wednesday visited Kaying village in East Siang district to express solidarity with the victims of a recent fire incident that left multiple families displaced and homes destroyed.
Accompanied by District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents from East Siang, West Siang, Siang, and Lepa Rada districts, as well as AICC state social media coordinator Kon Jirjo Jotham and APYC general secretary Bukjong Lego, Siram led a relief distribution programme and met with the affected families.
Addressing the public, Siram conveyed his deep sorrow over the tragedy and assured the victims that the Congress party stands firmly with them in this difficult time. He added that the APCC would submit a formal memorandum to the state government, demanding immediate relief and rehabilitation support.
Siram emphasised the urgent need for timely financial assistance to the affected families and called upon the district administration to expedite the damage assessment process to facilitate faster reconstruction efforts.
He also underlined the critical need for a fire tender and permanent fire brigade infrastructure in the Kaying circle to safeguard the area from future disasters.
The APCC chief assured the gathering that he would personally write to the state government regarding these concerns, particularly the absence of fire-fighting infrastructure in Kaying.
Siram lauded the courage and unity demonstrated by the local community, the Indian Army, and the rescue teams whose prompt intervention helped contain the disaster.
