Three Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Minor in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Three persons have been arrested on charges of sexual assault of a minor in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district, police said on Tuesday.

The incident happened near Manabum Nala under Diyun police station in the district on July 18 last, Changlang Superintendent of Police Kirli Padu said.

Acting swiftly on a report by a relative of the victim, a police team led by inspector Ongsa Ronrang and others arrested the accused identified as Chugolo Chakma (31) from Shillong Pahar, Ama Chakma (20) from Manabum and Som Kumar Chakma alias Shanti Jivon (30) from Kamakhyapur.

The SP said cases under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and POCSO Act, 2012 have been registered at Diyun police station against the accused.

All accused are in judicial custody, he said.
