Arunachal Assembly Panel Probes Privilege Breach by RWD Engineer

The Privilege Committee of the 8th Arunachal Assembly held its second sitting, chaired by Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor, to examine a breach of privilege case against an RWD executive engineer.

ITANAGAR: The Privilege Committee of the Eighth Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, chaired by deputy speaker and committee chairman Kardo Nyigyor, convened its second sitting on Monday to examine evidence related to a breach of privilege motion filed against a rural works department (RWD) executive engineer.

N L Kamin, the executive engineer of the department is currently posted at Rupa circle, in West Kameng district of the state.

The motion was initiated following allegations made by Congress MLA from Bameng assembly constituency, Kumar Waii.

During the session, the committee meticulously reviewed documentary materials submitted by both Waii and Kamin. These included WhatsApp voice notes and other supporting documents provided as per the committee’s earlier directive during its first sitting on May 6, last. After a detailed examination of the submissions, the committee concluded that further investigation is necessary and has scheduled a subsequent sitting to continue its deliberations.
