Itanagar: A five-day training-cum-workshop on Sanskrit and Indian classical music was inaugurated on Wednesday by Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS) at its headquarters in Pachin Colony, near here.
Aimed at empowering teachers and students from Vidya Niketans, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), the workshop seeks to strengthen foundational knowledge in spoken Sanskrit, shlokas, devotional and patriotic songs.
Organized in collaboration with Samskrita Bharati North East, the initiative reflects ASVS’s commitment to nurturing Indian knowledge traditions and holistic education in the state.
Gracing the inaugural session, ASVS patron Tai Tagak, emphasized the importance of preserving indigenous languages and classical arts.
Tagak noted that Sanskrit and Indian music are integral to India’s cultural identity and must be passed on to future generations.
