Arunachal BJP concludes 4-day legislators’ orientation programme in Guwahati

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP, has successfully concluded a four-day orientation-cum-training programme for its MLAs and MPs at Guwahati in Assam, which concluded on Monday. The initiative was aimed at enhancing legislative efficiency, political awareness, and effective public service delivery among party representatives from the state.

The programme witnessed the participation of 45 out of 46 party MLAs from the northeastern state, showcasing high levels of discipline and commitment, a party communiqué informed here. Over the four days, a total of 13 sessions were conducted, featuring a wide range of expert resource persons including union ministers, state leaders, policy experts, economists, and senior party functionaries.

The sessions covered diverse topics such as governance, economy, public communication, national security, policy formulation, and leadership development.

The valedictory session on Sunday was addressed by party’s national general secretary (organisation) B L Santosh, who lauded the dedication of the lawmakers for participating with seriousness and discipline despite their constituency responsibilities.

He encouraged the legislators to maintain constant engagement with all sections of society, including grassroots BJP workers, and to work inclusively beyond the lines of caste, tribe, or clan.

Santosh also commended the management team behind the successful organization of the programme.

He criticized the Congress party for what he described repeated changes in the chief ministerial position in Arunachal Pradesh, alleging that such decisions were driven by personal ambition and familial agendas, which in turn hampered development and encouraged corruption and nepotism.

State BJP president Kaling Moyong in his address, praised the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein for working in unity to advance development across all sectors in the state.

Moyong reiterated the party’s commitment to inclusive governance under the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” emphasising the importance of last-mile delivery of government services.

Among the key speakers were National Joint General Secretary (Org) Shivprakash, who spoke on the party’s developmental journey and ideological foundations; Ulhas Kulkarni, who elaborated on organisational philosophy and transformation strategies; Assam minister and BJP in-charge for Arunachal Ashok Singhal, who focused on constituency and office management; and K V Raju, economic advisor to the UP chief minister, who provided insights on Arunachal’s developmental indicators. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju spoke on the North-East’s centrality to the vision of a developed India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while  Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted emerging opportunities for the North-East as part of India’s global vision. Khandu discussed challenges and opportunities in the state, while deputy chief minister Mein presented an introduction to public finance and budget formulation.
