ITANAGAR: Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu has inaugurated as many as 14 infrastructure projects valued at Rs. 102 crore in the Kalaktang constituency of the West Kameng district. The foundation for 21 new projects worth Rs 126 crore were also laid by the Arunachal CM.

“Accelerating development in Kalaktang constituency! Inaugurated 14 projects worth Rs 102 crore and laid the foundation for 21 new projects worth Rs 126 crore, reaffirming our commitment to progress and prosperity,” CM Khandu wrote in a post on X.

Home Minister Mama Natung, local MLA Tseten Chombay and BJP state president Kaling Moyong also attended the event among others.

CM Khandu also chaired a meeting focused on development at Shergaon in Kalaktang constituency, where key issues and future projects were discussed.

He informed that the Shergaon to Mandala Top road project is in the pipeline, adding that the Public Works Department (PWD) is currently conducting a survey to assess it. Officials confirmed that necessary approvals are expected soon, he further added.

In addition to it, the Arunachal CM said that the Shergaon to Doimara road is another significant proposal for which the Sherdukpen community had submitted a memorandum.

A feasibility survey will be conducted by the PWD, following which, a report on its implementation will be submitted.

Moreover, Khandu highlighted that water supply has been a persistent problem in the region, assuring that steps are being taken to secure funding for a centralized water project for Kalaktang and Rupa. He said that the proposal has been received and efforts are underway to execute it at the earliest.
