
ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has urged the people of the state to join forces in the battle against tuberculosis (TB). In a social media post on December 26, Khandu highlighted the tireless efforts of healthcare teams, senior doctors, and district administrations working to reach even the most remote areas of the state for early TB detection and treatment.
The Chief Minister assured the public that treatment for TB is completely free, ensuring access to essential healthcare for all. He emphasized the importance of community participation and awareness, stressing that with collective efforts, Arunachal Pradesh can achieve its goal of becoming TB-free.
Earlier, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik (retd) on December 12 called for a multi-pronged effort to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) from the state by 2025.
During a meeting with state health commissioner Pawan Kumar Sain to review the implementation of the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), Parnaik emphasized the need to double patient support, utilize technology and better diagnostic tools, and explore new drugs to eradicate TB.
The governor stressed that the special 100-day campaign, recently announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, should become a mass movement in the state, according to a communique from Raj Bhavan.
