Arunachal Deputy CM Congratulates 'Mok Mu' Team For Winning Best Short Film Award

Deputy CM Chowna Mein congratulated the team of 'Mok Mu' for winning the Best Short Film Award at the 10th Arunachal Film Festival 2025, praising its portrayal of loyalty, bravery and survival.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment Chowna Mein congratulated the team of the short film 'Mok Mu ' for winning the Best Short Film Award at the 10th Arunachal Film Festival 2025.

In a post on his official X account, Deputy CM Mein highlighted that the film is set against the mist-covered forests of 19th-century Northeast India. He praised the film for skillfully portraying a story of loyalty, bravery, and survival. He stated, "I extend my warmest congratulations to the entire team of ‘Mok Mu’ for winning the Best Short Film Award at the 10th Arunachal Film Festival 2025."

Directed by Chau Anandra Namchoom and produced by TBH and The Shop Around the Corner, with sponsorship from Chow Patan Khankyo, Mok Mu has garnered a lot of attention. The minister also mentioned that the film, made by the talented youth of Namsai, is a heartfelt tribute to Chaupha Plang Lu’s legacy. He ended his message by wishing the team more success in their future creative projects.

Meanwhile, the 10th Arunachal Film Festival began at TNZ Cinema, focusing on Northeast films. Organized by the Information & Public Relations (IPR) Department in collaboration with the Film Federation of Arunachal (FFA), the festival, which had started on Thursday, aimed at promoting the budding film industry in Arunachal Pradesh.

In his speech, Education Minister PD Sona had pointed out that cinema played an important role in mass communication, adding that films could be the impetus for change in society. He had appealed to young filmmakers to take the opportunity of using the AFF as a platform for creative expression in developing the film industry in their region. Sona had also commended the organizers for their efforts in fostering the film industry within the state.
