Itanagar: In a major step towards empowering the youth of Dibang Valley, the Panchayati Raj department has officially launched the ‘Shiksha Saathi Dibang’ initiative, in collaboration with the education department and grassroots NGO Hope Defence.

The programme is aimed at delivering monthly career counselling workshops for students of classes VI to XII across the district, guiding them toward informed and goal-oriented career choices.

The initiative was formalised with the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoU) on July 9 last, between the panchayati raj department of the district and the Hope Defence.

As per the MoU, career counselling sessions will be held on the last Saturday of every month, creating a consistent platform for students to engage with professionals and explore future opportunities.

The inaugural workshop was held at PM Shri upper primary school, Angolin on Wednesday, where more than 45 students and parents participated with enthusiasm.

District tourism officer Lamwang Aran, served as the resource person, offering deep insights into career avenues in commerce and management post-class XII. Students learned about a range of options including B.Com, BBA, BCA, M.Com, MBA, MCA, and globally recognised certifications like CA, ACCA, and CFA.

The session was warmly received by both students and parents, reflecting a growing community interest in structured career planning.

Hope Defence, the driving force behind this mission, aims to reshape the education and awareness ecosystem in the region by involving not only students but also their families and the broader community in the transformation process.
