DOIMUKH: The Indigenous Faith & Culture Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) has firmly denied any influence or backing from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the Sadbhavna Pada Yatra held today at Rono Ground near Doimukh.

The rally, organized by IFCSAP, aimed to urge the state government to implement the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 1978.

Speaking to media person, IFCSAP president Emi Rumi emphasized that the rally’s sole purpose was to appeal for the Act’s implementation. He clarified that the Act is not against any particular religion but is intended to benefit all religious communities in the state. Rumi further stated that the Act would serve to protect not only indigenous believers but also converted Christians. He, therefore, appealed to the Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) to support the Act’s implementation rather than opposing it.

IFCSAP spokesperson Pai Dawe addressed concerns regarding the perceived connection between IFCSAP and RSS. He claimed that the presence of RSS in Arunachal Pradesh and India is due to Christianity but insisted that this does not imply that IFCSAP is backed by RSS. Dawe also highlighted that it was IFCSAP that took the initiative to approach the court for the Act’s implementation. Following their appeal, the High Court directed the state government to enforce the Act within six months.

He asserted that if any section of the Christian community has objections, they should approach the court rather than create controversy over the issue.

Meanwhile, former All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) President Hawa Bagang alleged that certain Christian leaders are misleading their followers regarding the Freedom of Religion Act for personal gains.
