Arunachal: Mariyang youth lead dustbin installation to promote cleanliness

The Mariyang Area Youth Association, with support from the urban development department, launched a dustbin installation drive to improve hygiene in Upper Siang’s Mariyang township.

ITANAGAR: In a proactive move to enhance environmental hygiene, the Mariyang Area Youth Association (MAYA), in collaboration with the urban development & housing department, on Monday, launched a dustbin installation program across Mariyang township in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The initiative, supported by community leaders including ADC Nongkong Borang, ZPM Bojing Bitin, and AE Todol Tayeng, saw the installation of 40 strategically placed dustbins across markets, roadsides, schools, and other public areas to encourage responsible waste disposal.

MAYA called on the residents of Mariyang to actively support and take ownership of the initiative, aiming to build a greener and healthier township for future generations.
