DIBANG VALLEY: A massive landslide at KM5 from Etalin on National Highway-313 has caused severe traffic disruption between Anini and Roing, prompting the Dibang Valley district administration to issue an advisory against travel.

The landslide, which occurred on March 4, completely blocked the highway, making it impassable. According to officials, clearing the debris may take at least two days, depending on the weather conditions.

Deputy Commissioner of Dibang Valley, Pagli Sora (APCS), issued a public advisory urging people to avoid travelling on the Anini-Roing road on March 5 and 6, 2025, until the road is declared safe.

The advisory was issued as a precaution due to the fragile terrain and the likelihood of unfavorable weather that could further delay restoration work.

Authorities confirmed that debris clearance is already underway. However, given the magnitude of the landslide, it is expected to take at least two days to clear the road. The official notice advised travelers to delay their trips until further updates to avoid inconvenience or risk.

The Dibang Valley district administration has deployed all necessary resources to expedite the clearance process. Passengers and locals are advised to stay updated through official announcements regarding the reopening of NH-313 for safe and hassle-free travel.

Landslides are a common issue in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly in hilly areas during unpredictable weather conditions. Officials have cautioned that weather may continue to impact restoration efforts, and tourists should plan their trips accordingly.
