ITANAGAR: Aalo town in Arunachal's West Siang district marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of a 400-capacity multipurpose hall and a scenic walkway along the Yomgo Riverfront on Sunday.

Both projects, worth Rs. 5 crores each, intends to improve the town's infrastructure and recreational amenities, playing a significant role in the overall advancement of the region.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, accompanied by four of his cabinet colleagues, which included local MLA and Sports Minister Kento Jini.

Addressing the event, Chief Minister Khandu stated, “This magnificent facility is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all involved. It will not only serve as a venue for various events but also foster community bonding and growth," while expressing his admiration for the newly constructed Multipurpose Hall.

The Yomgo Riverfront walkway offered a serene and picturesque environment for both residents and visitors, marking another highlight for the day. Its modern design seamlessly integrated with the river's natural beauty, creating a peaceful space ideal for relaxation and recreation.

Meanwhile, earlier last month, Arunachal Pradesh had taken a progressive step towards uplifting local agriculture and enhancing livelihoods by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

The MoU was established with the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) for formalizing the launch of Mission Arun Himveer, a unique initiative to connect local farming communities with the country's border security forces.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu spearheaded the initiative and pointed out dual benefits from it. Such an agreement helps farmers provide fresh produce with a stable market while increasing the ties of border residents with the ITBP.
