ITANAGAR: Naharlagun police in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday arrested two drug peddlers from Nyigam Colony and seized heroin weighing 12.4 grams from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Naharlagun police station officer-in-charge Inspector Krishnendu Dev under the supervision of Naharlagun SDPO Rishi Longdo conducted a successful raid at Nyigam Colony and apprehended two drug peddlers, Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo said. The SP said the arrested drug peddlers have been identified as 24-year-old Hage Opo and 19-year-old Mom Riche Dorjee.
Police seized 10 vials of suspected heroin weighing 12.4 grams, including plastic vials; 51 tablets of Nitcor-10 (Nitrazepam 10mg); one used syringe; and three pistol-shaped lighters with a concealed knife from their possession in the presence of Naharlagun executive magistrate Khoda Bath, he said.
The SP said a case has been registered at Naharlagun police station under Sections 21(b)/27/29 NDPS Act r/w Section 28 Arms Act.
