ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu Tuesday administered the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at a primary health centre here.

The 42-year-old Chief Minister took the second dose of the Covishield vaccine at the Itanfort Upper Primary Health Centre here, in the morning.

"Got my second dose of #Covid vaccine today," Pema Khandu said in his official twitter handle.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to get inoculated as soon as possible.

"Whoever haven't got the shot please get it done ASAP & also encourage everyone eligible to get it as well. It's safe & best way to protect ourselves and our loved ones from #coronavirus. Keep following #COVIDAppropriateBehaviour," Khandu said in another tweet.

Khandu was administered the first shot of a COVID-19 vaccine at a hospital in Tawang district on April 20 this year.

Taking to the micro-blogging site of Twitter, Khandu wrote, "Got my first dose of Covid-19 vaccine today at Khandro Drowa Zangmo Hospital at Tawang. I urge all eligible for vaccine must come forward and get vaccinated. This will provide the much needed protection amidst the second wave."
