ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh government has launched a comprehensive tourism policy aimed at transforming the state into a premier destination for both domestic and international travellers.
Alongside this initiative, a vibrant new tourism logo has been introduced, marking a significant step in rebranding the state’s travel experiences.
The new policy, which was released in New Delhi on Wednesday, focuses on sustainable tourism, community empowerment, and experiential travel, targeting key sectors such as adventure tourism, ecotourism, film tourism, and spiritual tourism.
The government also aims to double domestic tourist footfalls and increase international tourist arrivals tenfold, an official communiqué informed here on Thursday.
Unveiling the policy and brand identity, state Tourism Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona said, “Our goal is to position Arunachal Pradesh as a world-class tourism destination while preserving its rich tribal culture, pristine landscapes, and biodiversity.”
To achieve this, the policy emphasises skill development, investment facilitation, and streamlined business processes. Skill gap assessments and training programmes will be conducted in collaboration with premier institutes like IITTM and IHM, ensuring a well-equipped workforce for the tourism sector.
The government is taking concrete steps to attract investment, including the establishment of district-level land banks for tourism projects. Investors will have easy access to these opportunities via the state tourism website, the minister said. State tourism secretary Ranphoa Ngowa announced that a dedicated facilitation cell will serve as a one-stop solution for investors, ensuring seamless information flow and support.
“We are also working with Invest India to strengthen outreach efforts,” he added. To enhance visibility, a comprehensive promotional strategy involving digital and offline campaigns, social media engagement, and event-based promotions will be implemented.
