Arunachal Pradesh: Library Awareness Campaign Concludes Successfully at Mahabodhi Lord Buddha College

ITANAGAR: Aiming to cultivate reading habits among students, the District Library at Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh, successfully concluded a two-phase library awareness campaign cum library mMembership drive at Mahabodhi Lord Buddha College, Piyong, on Friday. The first phase of the campaign, held in December last year, targeted middle, secondary, and higher secondary schools within the township, including the government nursing school and Arunachal University of Studies (AUS).

The second phase extended its reach to Ven Bethani College, C P Namchoom government polytechnic college, and Mahabodhi Lord Buddha College, respectively.

Over 2,000 students, alongside teachers and faculty members, benefited from the program. The drive witnessed significant enthusiasm, with a large number of students enrolling for library memberships.

Prominent attendees and resource persons included Namsai extra assistant commissioner (EAC) Oni Padun, district horticulture officer Mardo Ninu, treasury officer S Hussain, PGT Raju Dutta, PGT Manosh Kr and librarian S Mukhopadhyay.

The campaign, initiated by Namsai deputy commissioner C R Khampa, aimed to spread the 'Joy of Reading' message and encourage students to utilize the advanced facilities of the hi-tech district library. To accommodate the growing number of library users, the district library remains open six days a week from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Students expressed great enthusiasm during the program, highlighting its success in promoting reading among the youth.
