NAHARLAGUN: A 28-year-old man, Kipa Tania from Kurung Kumey district, was arrested by Naharlagun Police for vandalizing a car belonging to a TRIHMS Cardiology professor. The incident occurred on Friday evening at the TRIHMS basement parking. Tania, frustrated by a minor parking issue, resorted to violence, slashing the car’s tire with a machete.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that the accused, who had visited TRIHMS for his wife’s medical check-up, became frustrated after his vehicle was temporarily blocked in the basement parking area.  In a fit of anger, he kicked the other car and used the machete to slash its tyre twice. The accused confessed to the act, claiming it was done out of frustration.

The police highlighted that the TRIHMS basement parking is reserved for medical staff, and vehicles are often left in neutral to allow manual adjustments when blockages occur. Citizens have been urged to follow parking regulations and refrain from carrying weapons in public spaces, including government buildings and markets. The incident underscores the importance of maintaining calm and following parking regulations, especially in public spaces like hospitals. Police urged citizens to refrain from carrying weapons and to resolve disputes peacefully.
