Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Reformers Forum (APRF) has called on the state government to implement 100% job reservation for local residents, arguing it would significantly reduce youth unemployment.

APRF chairperson Raj Pao, speaking to the media on Tuesday, advocated for the complete elimination of unreserved job categories in the state’s interest. He announced plans to form a committee to develop a strategy for achieving this 100% reservation.

Pao also addressed what he described as a misinterpretation of the existing 20% unreserved category, stating that it is often misused, leading to violations of established norms. He warned that this 20% unreserved quota poses a long-term threat to the state, citing the current situation of tribal population in Tripura as an example.

“The forum will propose to the state government the mandatory inclusion of a third language category and domicile certificate requirements in all state government and Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) job recruitment,” Pao stated, adding that these proposals will be finalized after committee discussions. The APRF has appealed to student organizations, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to support their initiative by providing suggestions and input.
