Arunachal Pradesh Secretariat destroys seized tobacco, liquor, weapons

ITANAGAR: State Civil Secretariat Security Officer, Inspector B Potom in the presence of Deputy Secretary, (Sarkar Aapke Dwar), CK Gohain dumped seized tobacco, cigarettes and liquor at the Civil Secretariat campus, here on Wednesday.

Inspector Potom said that awareness must be created among the staff and visitors regarding the use of tobacco-related items since the Civil Secretariat is a “Tobacco Free Zone”.

“Not only it is injurious to health but it makes the Secretariat filthy and inhospitable for the staff and visitors,” Potom added.

Meanwhile, Assistant Security Officer, S Yedi informed that lethal weapons such as local dao (machete), knife, rods, lathis were seized from the visitor’s vehicle.

He added that, the public and staff must refrain from bringing such lethal weapon in the compound of the Civil Secretariat as it has been strictly restricted by order.
