Itanagar: 16-year-old Tai Samuel of Tigdo, a student at Donyi-Polo Vidhya Bhawan, Itanagar, drowned in the Nyorch river on Monday.

Naharlagun Police after receiving the information 0 sent a team to search along with the parents and relatives and later recovered the body from the river.

SP Jimmy Chiram informed that as per eyewitnesses, that this was a case of accidental drowning and no foul play is suspected.

Keeping Samuel's father's request in mind, the executive magistrate allowed the body of the deceased to be handed over to his parents for performing the last rites without conducting post mortem examination. 

Chiram further requested the public to be extra careful on the riverside and avoid it during rains and at night. He also appealed to the people to take care of their children who go out of their houses without informing the parents and also without maintaining safety measures and meet with accidents on road or drown.
