Arunachal: Training, agro-input distribution boosts fruit farming in Dibang Valley

The College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat, held training and agro-input distribution from May 15–17 in villages across Arunachal Pradesh's Dibang Valley.

ITANAGAR: The College of horticulture and forestry at Pasighat, in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, under the Central Agriculture University (CAU) Imphal, organized a training and agro-input distribution program across several villages in Dibang Valley district of the northeastern state, including Anini, Aliney, Etalin, Anelih, and Arzoo, from May 15 to May 17, last.

The training focused on modern agro-techniques for high-value fruit crops such as kiwi, orange, and apple.

It was led by Co-PI of the CARS project Dr Ajaykumara K M, along with YP-1 Damini Ngute Tamin, FA James Kakki, BMM ArSRLM Leko Mile, and Sunil Kumar Singh, senior technical officer from DRL (DRDO), Tezpur.

Over 100 beneficiaries, predominantly women farmers participated in the program and received essential farming inputs including sprayers, secateurs, pruning saws, neem oil, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, micronutrient mixtures, and neem cake to support sustainable fruit cultivation.
