Arunachal: Training for error-free summary revision of electoral rolls held

A training session on the summary revision of electoral rolls was conducted in Aalo, West Siang district, to ensure accuracy ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections.

ITANAGAR: As part of the preparations for the upcoming panchayat elections, a training and briefing session on the summary revision of electoral rolls was conducted at Aalo, in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, on Wednesday.

The session, organised by the district election officer, focused on the Aalo West and Aalo East assembly constituencies, aiming to ensure a smooth and error-free electoral process.

Extra assistant commissioner Koj Tacho, in his welcome address, emphasised the need for accuracy in the preparation of electoral rolls. He advised all designated officers, AEROs, and EROs to work meticulously to ensure the rolls are error-free and up to date.

Deputy district electoral officer Mabi Taipodia, in her address, highlighted key aspects of the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1997, and provided a detailed briefing on the procedures involved in the summary revision of electoral rolls.

She also reminded the officers to maintain one voter per constituency and to cross-check for duplicate entries during the revision process.

Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage informed them that the state Election Commission would soon conduct the panchayat elections and that an updated electoral roll is critical for its success.
