ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh has been honored with the Best Mountain Destination award for Mechuka at the India Today Tourism Awards 2025, held at The Oberoi, New Delhi.

The prestigious event, organized annually by the India Today Media Group, recognises excellence in the tourism sector across India. Receiving the award on behalf of Arunachal Pradesh, Resident Tourism Officer Adong Moyong and DRC Arunachal Bhawan Marto Bagra represented the state’s Tourism Minister.

The award was presented by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who praised Mechuka’s breathtaking landscapes and acknowledged the collective efforts of the state tourism department, tourism operators, and local communities in promoting the region. This recognition further strengthens Arunachal Pradesh’s position as a premier travel destination, offering visitors pristine natural beauty and rich cultural experiences.

The ceremony also featured insightful discussions on the future of India’s tourism industry, emphasizing the significance of sustainable development, strategic planning, and active collaboration between the government, tourism stakeholders, and local communities. These elements are crucial in ensuring the long-term growth and prosperity of the state’s tourism sector.
