Itanagar: The RIWATCH Centre for Mother Languages (RCML), operating under the Research Institute of World's Ancient Traditions Cultures and Heritage (RIWATCH), successfully organised a two-day workshop focused on the documentation of the endangered Tawra Mishmi language and culture. The workshop was held on June 16 and 17, at the RIWATCH campus in Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The event aimed to collect and archive extensive wordlists and sentence structures of the Tawra Mishmi language, a crucial step in preserving the community's rich linguistic and cultural heritage. Audio-visual recordings were conducted at the RIWATCH recording studio for phonological and phonetic analysis, ensuring the data is preserved through long-term digital archiving.
