Beti Janmotsava held in Arunachal district to promote girl child welfare

Itanagar: A Beti Janmotsava programme was held in Papum Pare district, Arunachal Pradesh, on Friday, where officials emphasized the importance of collective efforts to ensure the safety, education, health, and empowerment of the girl child. Parents were urged to utilize welfare schemes to secure their daughters' futures.

The event, organized under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme in Doimukh by the Papum Pare district administration and ICDS cell, saw participation from over 70 people, including lactating mothers covered under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and adolescent girls.

Addressing the gathering, Doimukh SDO Nyelam Tan praised the women and child development department for its continuous awareness efforts, stating, "Beti Janmotsava carries an important social message about valuing, protecting, educating, and empowering the girl child." He encouraged parents to avail themselves of the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana through post offices to secure their daughters' financial futures.
