Changlang district unit of anti-drug squad (ADS) arrested Drug peddler in Miao Circle

ITANAGAR: The Changlang district unit of the anti-drug squad (ADS) arrested a drug peddler and recovered suspected brown sugar from his possession in Miao Circle on Wednesday, police informed. Based on a tip-off received regarding the likely movement of drug peddlers in the general area of Miao and Dharmapur, the ADS, led by Miao SDPO T Zirdo,police station OC L Kamcham, DySP (P) Sange Tenzin, and a team of district police and 186 Bn CRPF, swiftly established a series of nakas and raids at different locations, Changlang SP Mihin Gambo informed on Thursday.

During the raid, a drug peddler identified as Deepak Gupta (20) was arrested. The team also recovered brown sugar approximately 101.72 gm from his possession. Accordingly, a criminal case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Miao police station against the arrested drug peddler, and further investigation is underway, the SP added.
