ITANAGAR: The Delhi Police has honoured Jenjum Gadi, a fashion designer from Arunachal Pradesh who was selected to design the elegant dressage for the Delhi Police Women Band. Gadi is based in New Delhi.

The Delhi Police raised its first Women Police Band this year.

Senior Police officer Robin Hibu said that he was touched when Gadi said he would donate the designing fee to the burial and cremation assistance fund of 'Helping Hands'.

The fund helps people from the North East who die in major cities across the country get a decent burial or cremation. The fund also goes into sending their mortal remains home. Hibu said, "To me, Gadi is an epitome of the new successful entrepreneurs from the NE States who differ from the youths obsessed with white-collared jobs. He is also a role model for adventurous NE youth to travel on a road less taken.''
