Disaster Management programme on school safety organized by DDMA

Itanagar: The ten-day series of disaster management programme on school safety, organised by the district disaster management authority (DDMA) of Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh, since November 16 last concluded on Tuesday at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Kangteng, in the district. During the programme three higher secondary schools, four secondary schools and four upper primary schools of the district were covered.

Around 2,000 students from all the schools were given awareness and training on various techniques and methods of search and rescue operations, medical first aid and fire safety measures, an official release informed here.

Earlier the NDRF team has participated in the XIth Maitree Diwas celebration at Tawang, wherein they have installed an exhibition stall to showcase the force’s search and rescue equipment in collaboration with DDMA Tawang, the release added.
