ITANAGAR: The All Kra Daadi District Students Union (AKDDSU) has demanded the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) to conduct the examinations to select the personnel for the 41 vacant posts sanctioned for the district way back in in 2016, within 15 days.

Addressing the media at the Press Club here on September 1, AKDDSU president Pakyum Talop informed that the 41 post sanctioned for the district has been lying vacant all these four years. He further said that failing to conduct the exams within 15 days, the Union will launch a democratic movement to meet their one-point demand.

"The vacant posts include nine of Upper Divisional Clerk (UDC), 14 of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), 11 of peons, three of sweepers and two posts each of chowkidar and 'dag runners'," he said.

Talop also informed that though an advertisement for recruitment to these posts was published in the name of the Deputy Commissioner in 2017 yet the examination could not be held due to some reasons. "Thereafter, under the enormous pressure from the public and the unemployed youths, another advertisement was published in 2018. But it was later cancelled," he said, adding that in 2018, the responsibility to hold the recruitment procees of the entire 41 posts was handed over to the APSSB. He demanded to know as to what is taking the APSSb such a long time to conduct the examination. He said that the delay in conducting the recruitment process is not only increasing the numbers of unemployed youths in the district but also hampering the life of unemployed youths. Earlier, the union has also submitted a memorandum to the APSSB Chairman to conduct the examination to fill up the vacancies at the earliest.
