Finale of Singing Competition Held at General Ground Mayu, Lungla Headquarters

ITANAGAR: The grand finale of 'Voice of Dhagpaneng and Dhagpa Rig-Zhung Sergyaling Season-3' -- a modern and folk song singing competition -- was held at General Ground Mayu, Lungla headquarters on Sunday.

This initiative of MLA Lungla S Jambey Tashi was started in 2012. It provides a platform to the young talents to showcase their talents in the field of singing and also encourages the younger generation to learn and preserve folk songs.

The grand finale was attended by MLA Dhirang Phurpa Tsering as the Chief Guest, and MLA Thrizino Buragaon Kumsi Sidisow as the Guest of Honour.

Jambey Tashi Lungla MLA in his address said, "We are proud to inform that the winners of last Voice of Dhagpaneng and Dhagpa Rig-Zhung Sergyaling Season-2, competed in the district-level mega singing competition. Mon-Sergyaling and Mon Rigzhung Sergyaling and won the titles. He also congratulated Urgen Tsomu for taking part in the singing competition at the national level with trained singers. The little singing sensation -- Urgen Tsomu -- performed in the grand finale as special performer.

Jambey Tashi further appealed all the general public to maintain peace and work collectively and unitedly for betterment of the society and the State.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dhirang Phurpa Tsering congratulated Jambey Tashi for succesfully organizing such mega competitions at the Sub Divisional headquarters.

Appreciating the achievements under Jambey Tashi as Lungla MLA he said, "I have witnessed fast development and changing social status of the people of Lungla." He added that the constituency has attained new heights of development in the last one decade.

Kumsi Sidisow Thrizino Buragaon MLA in his address as the Guest of Honour said, "I'm happy to see so much of development in Lungla area under the leadership of Jambey Tashi. He also congratulated all the participants and appreciated the organizers, participants and MLA Lungla Jambey Tashi for promotion and preserving the rich culture and folk songs through such mega competitions. He also promised that the prize money for the next season winners will be jointly sponsored by him and MLA Dhirang Phurpa Tsering.
