Fix responsibilities for welfare of masses: Bamang Felix to officers

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Rural Development & Panchayat Minister, Bamang Felix has called upon the officials of both departments to fix responsibilities for the welfare of masses.

Chairing a review meeting with the officers of the departments at Tawang on Wednesday, the Minister said that the sole responsibility of a public servant, leader and government servant is to serve the people. He said that while a few people take their jobs as duty, some deem it as responsibility.

"We should come forward to serve our society with responsibility since our society is still in a transition period," he added. Calling upon the officers to fix responsibilities, he pointed out that they have the responsibility to transform the rural areas of Arunachal adding that his responsibility is to reform the two departments.

"Let us work together as we have a very small population in our State. We can transform Arunachal Pradesh, and bring about changes in the life of the masses," appealed the Minister.

Lauding the department for its commendable job in the district, Bamang Felix said that there are a few things that need intervention and activation. He pointed out, ''The master brain of the Panchayat & RD Departments in the State is the SIRD (State Institute of Rural Development), which has been revived,'' he added.
