BORDUMSA: Somlung Mossang, the MLA of Bordumsa -Diyun constituency, on Sunday morning laid the foundation stone for Bhikkhu Niwas (homes for the monks ) here in the premises of Dhammachariya Buddha Vihara at Bijoypur III in Bordumsa under Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Mossang as a special guest, was attending a religious programme of the Buddhism -6th Kathina Cibora Dana Utsav organized by Dhammachariya Buddha Vihara at Bijoypur with a two-day long agenda of various religious activities. The development-oriented legislator announced a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh for the erection of the Bhikkhu Niwas beside donating Rs 50,000 to the organizing committee of the Utsav.

Ven.Bimal Bhikkhu, the president of Sishu Koruna Sangha Kolkata, who was the chief guest shared the dias with the MLA along with Khachang Maio the ZPM Bordumsa and other devotees.

Lauding the generosity and secular outlook of the local legislator Somlung Mossang, Ven.Bimal Bhikkhu urged the people to live in harmony, spread peace and lead a life of dharma. "I express my gratitude towards the MLA for his noble acts of charity for the poor, ailing and disabled. He is truely a secular and generous leader of the people and can rightly be called as the common man's MLA," said the religious leader during his address. He also briefed about the significance of the Utsav and enlightened the gathering with his wisdom, moral and religious teachings.

Later attending the final day of the prize-money football tournament at nearby Bijoypur I, Mossang as chief guest underlined the significance of games and sports activities and urged the youths to shun the path of addiction to contraband substances to make their lives socially meaningful. The MLA gave away the trophy along with the cash award of Rs 40, 000 sponsored by him to the winning team, Rajanagar III FC which defeated Red Bull FC by 4-0.
