ITANAGAR: The Galo Welfare Society (GWS), as a mark of protest against the delay in solving the alleged murder case of former APPSC undersecretary Tumi Gangkak, has declared its first phase of dharna at IG Park near here on April 1.

The GWS General Secretary Nyadar Loya told reporters that the second phase of protest will be followed by a mass one-day casual leave by all the government employees of Galo Community, who are serving across the state, on April 10. The announcement came after a seven-day ultimatum to the state government, especially to the police department and investing team, to reveal the factual findings and investigation reports publicly in written form in regards to Late Tumi Gangkak’s mysterious death case.

“We have given enough time to the state government and police department to find out the causes of the mysterious late Gangkak, but till date the police have failed to respond to the victim’s family members, which is heartening our sentiments,” he added. Nyadar Loya said that the mysterious death of Tumi Gangkak is directly connected with the APPSC paper leak case, as he was the lone witness in this case, and his statement can bring in many culprits. He further claimed that the mysterious death of Late Tumi Gangkak was a planned murder, and if it’s not murder, then the state government and police department should prove it.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the delays in the police investigation into late Tumi Gangkak’s mysterious death case, Nyadar Loya stated that if the government fails to respond to our demands this time, we will be forced to go to the capital Complex bandh call. He also expressed his unhappiness over the silence of the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) on the issue. Further, he also appealed to all the student community to join this movement, stating that after the mysterious death of Tumi Gangkak, the APPSC paper leakage case will be in shock. Meanwhile, in a press statement, Capital SP Jimmy Chiram said that the case is still under investigation through the SIT formed under Capital Police. The investigation team has completed the search and seizure on the spot, collected postmortem reports, collected and analysed over 100 hours of CCTV footage, performed detailed CDR analyses of the victim, suspects, and others, and conducted detailed interrogations of various suspects and witnesses. Some evidence has been sent to FSL for further analysis, and the reports are awaited. Further, CCTV footage is being further analysed for any other findings. The call data records from nearby mobile towers have also been collected and are being analyzed.
