Girls’ samples from Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh test negative for COVID-19

Itanagar: The samples of the two girls from Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh which, was sent to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for the COVID-19 test, found negative, a senior health official here said.

The reports of the samples tested at the hospital came out negative, Health Secretary P Parthiban informed.

The Tawang district administration has placed the girls under home quarantine after they were found to have travelled on the same flight with a man from Mizoram who tested positive for Covid-19.

The girls were seated next to the 50-year-old man on a New Delhi-Guwahati flight on March 16 last.

The elderly pastor, who recently returned from Amsterdam, tested positive for Covid-19 in Mizoram on Tuesday, making it the second case of the disease in the Northeast.

Parthiban further revealed that twelve persons have so far been tested for the Coronavirus in the state out of which seven results came back negative, while the results of the remaining samples are awaited. All the test samples are sent to Assam.
