ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Women's Welfare Society (APWWS) has called upon the State government to bear the educational expenses of frontline worker Salmi Sangdigoria's offspring.

Sangdigouria's, a Healthcare worker succumbed to COVID-19 while on duty at the Rama Krishna Mission Hospital (RKMH) here.

The APWWS said that the State government should secure the life of Sangdigouria's son as the minor, a student of class VIII, is all by himself.

Accompanied by the society's treasurer Hage Onyo and social service coordinator Mamoni Riang, APWWS secretary general Kani Nada Maling on Monday handed over Rs 10,000 to Kundan Maharaj, sanitation in-charge and Dr Lobsang Tsetim for the son of the sanitation worker.

The society has expressed pain and anguish over the death of Sangdigoria.
